SOUNDGARDEN RELEASES VIDEO FOR NEW STUDIO RECORDING

December 1, 2014

Soundgarden has released a new video for “Storm,” one of seven previously unreleased recordings included on the band’s new collection of B-sides and rarities, Echo Of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across The Path.

Guitarist Kim Thayil said that “Storm” was until now one of the rarest songs included in the set, “‘Storm’ is a brand new recording of a song that hasn’t existed in any form except for live, and it was performed live in our early days. So we did a studio recording of it back in May with Jack Endino.”

Jack Endino is the famed producer who recorded many early recordings by some of Seattle’s biggest bands, including Soundgarden’s 1987 debut EP, Screaming Life.

Echo Of Miles is a 50-track, three-disc set containing original B-sides, instrumentals, covers and demos recorded throughout the band’s career.

  • Soundgarden plans to work on a new studio album sometime in 2015. A remixed version of the band’s first full-length outing, 1988’s Ultramega OK, is also in the pipeline to arrive next year.
