Slash said in a new interview with Classic Rock magazine that he is already at work on music for his fourth studio album as a solo artist.

Asked if he had given any thought yet to a follow-up to last year’s World On Fire, Slash replied, “I’ve already started working on the new stuff . . . On the road is the platform that I find is the easiest for me to work on new material. It’s easier here than it is for me to do when I’m at home. So I just get going.”

Slash added, “I take my phone and I record ideas on the phone and then we jam stuff at soundchecks; when we have soundchecks. So we compile a bunch of ideas, and then when the tour is over, we go home and, sort of, hash them out.”

World On Fire was the second Slash album recorded with his touring band, Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, following 2012’s Apocalyptic Love.

Slash and the Conspirators will head out on a North American tour next month, beginning on April 25th in Orlando, Florida and winding down on May 24th in Dallas.
