Scott Weiland: Supergroup Art Of Anarchy was ‘a scam from the beginning’
Scott Weiland has said that the supergroup Art Of Anarchy (featuring members of Guns N’ Roses and Disturbed) was “a scam”.
Art Of Anarchy release their self-titled debut album on June 1, but Weiland has disassociated himself from the band, stating while he sang on parts of the album, he was never a full member and didn’t realise that the band features Guns N’ Roses guitarist Bumblefoot and Disturbed bassist John Moyer.
Former Stone Temple Pilots singer Weiland, whose new band The Wildabouts released their debut album ‘Blaster’ in March, said: “I had them send me the files and I worked on them in the studio with my engineer. I wrote the lyrics and the melodies and sent them back. I didn’t even know what their names were. It was a scam from the beginning.”
Weiland claimed that, with his involvement over, Art Of Anarchy are still looking for a singer. He said: “As fate will have it, they don’t even have a lead singer. I’m not worried about it taking any thunder away from The Wildabouts.”
