Scott Weiland Overdosed On Cocaine, Alcohol And Ecstasy
Toxicology results show that former Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland died of a combo of drugs and alcohol.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner in Minneapolis press release is below. It says Weiland overdosed on cocaine, methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA) and ethanol. The report also indicates heart disease and asthma were “significant” conditions. The test results also revealed Scott’s “multi-substance dependence” was a factor.
Weiland was found dead on his tour bus on December 3 at the age of 48.
A small amount of cocaine was found on the bus and Wildabout’s bassist Tommy Black, was arrested for possession.
According to People Magazine, Black won’t face drug possession charges related to Weiland’s death.
Deputy Bloomington Police Chief Mike Hartley told People that they never filed charges after “weighing what it would take to probe the narcotics charges against” Black.
Weiland’s passing is the second death for The Wildabouts. Guitarist Jeremy Brown died in March 2015 – a result of intoxication from multiple drugs. Brown’s death was ruled accidental.
