ROB ZOMBIE SETS RELEASE DATE FOR NEW LIVE ALBUM
Rob Zombie will release a new live album, Spookshow International Live, on February 24th. The CD will feature 19 tracks, including fan favorites “Dragula” and “Living Dead Girl,” plus live renditions of tracks from Zombie’s latest studio effort, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor, and a cover of the Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop.”
Zombie and his band have been working on a follow-up studio album, but Zombie said not to expect to hear any material that was left over from the Venomous Ratsessions: “There was some stuff left over from those sessions that never got finished that was good stuff — we just never finished it. ‘Cause for some reason, whenever we’re making a record, as soon as I know I have an album, I just stop. Like, I never go, ‘Oh, let’s record 30 songs and pick the best ones.’ I’m like, ‘Nope, we’re done. We’ve got 40 minutes, call it an album, we’re done.’ So there was some cool stuff left over, so we’re finishing some of that, but it’s mostly new stuff again.”
Zombie said about the new live disc, “It’s been eight years since our last live album, so we figured it was time for another. Actually, we weren’t planning on it, but we recorded a few shows and they sounded really great, so we thought, ‘F**k it! Let’s get it out there.'”
Zombie recently told the San Jose Mercury News that his next solo album is “the best record yet, truthfully.”
Zombie is scheduled to begin production on his next film as a director, 31, in February. He raised money for the film’s budget through a Kickstarter campaign.
