RISE AGAINST SINGER CALLS FOR BOYCOTT OF CIRCUSES AND MARINE ANIMAL PARKS
Known for his activism… Rise Against singer Tim McIlrath has released a new PSA in conjunction with PETA2 (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) calling for the boycott of circuses and marine animal parks.
McIlrath calls out SeaWorld and the Ringling Bros. Circus in the two-minute clip, ripping both for their horrific treatment of animals.
McIlrath gives examples of the inhumane way that the animals are treated, saying, “Animals in a circus like Ringling Bros. and marine parks like SeaWorld were kidnapped from their families or born into a life of captivity.” He notes that wild orca whales can swim up to 100 miles a day in the ocean, but are confined to concrete pools in captivity, adding that many don’t make it out of their teens while the species can usually live 30 to 50 years in the wild.

McIlrath has previously teamed with PETA on other PSAs regarding animal rights, including one about the benefits of humans adopting a vegetarian diet.
Rise Against kicks off a tour with Linkin Park and Of Mice & Men on January 15th in Orlando, Florida. The band is supporting its seventh studio effort, The Black Market.
