RED HOT CHILI PEPPER BASSIST BROKE HIS ARM
Chili Peppers bassist Flea broke his arm in mid-February while snowboarding and admitted in a Twitter exchange with fans on Sunday (March 8th), “Can’t play for a couple of months which is a serious change to my life.”
The Peppers worked on new material in 2014 and were preparing to go into the studio in early February, having announced Danger Mouse as their new producer. But on February 17th, Flea posted a photo of himself on Instagram showing most of his left arm and hand in a cast with the caption “Oops.”
The band has not officially announced any delay in recording, although if Flea cannot play bass for a “couple of months” then it seems certain that the sessions won’t begin until sometime in April at the earliest.
The new Chili Peppers album is due out sometime this year and will follow up 2011’s I’m With You.
