RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA NOW LEGAL IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
Recreational use of marijuana became legal today (February 26th) in Washington, D.C., just two days after Alaska joined Colorado and Washington state in also legalizing its use.
Adults 21 and over in the District of Columbia may now now legally use marijuana, possess up to two ounces of it and grow up to six plants in their homes for personal use.
However, buying or selling marijuana remains illegal, as does smoking it in public.
Nearly two-thirds of D.C. voters approved legalizing pot in the November elections.
