October 7, 2015

The first episode of the new The X-Files series had its world premiere last night (Oct 6) and was warmly received by the audience.

As Episode 1 was screened at the MIPCOM TV festival in Cannes, France, the audience “broke out in spontaneous applause multiple times”, and then “whooped and cheered as the closing credits rolled”.

Fox has recently announced that it will air episode one of its The X-Files event series on Sunday, January 25, followed by episode two on Monday, January 26. The remaining four episodes will air on Fox on subsequent Monday nights.

Joining David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in the event series are Mitch Pileggi, who is reprising his role as FBI boss Walter Skinner, and William B. Davis, who is returning as Mulder and Scully’s nemesis ‘The Smoking Man’. Fan favourites The Lone Gunmen are confirmed to be returning too.
