METALLICA BASSIST TRUJILLO’S DOCUMENTARY ‘JACO’ TO BE SHOWN AT FILM FESTIVAL
Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo’s documentary film depicting the life and music of bass legend Jaco Pastorius will be shown at the inaugural Asbury Park Music in Film Festival on April 11th.
The Metallica bassist and Pastorius’ son, Johnny Pastorius, produced the film, which is titled Jaco – A Documentary Film. Paul Marchand directed.
Producing the film has been steeper than he may have anticipated. Trujillo tells LA Weekly: “When you are trying to do it right, it’s costly. I’ve been a part of this film for five years. I’ve spent a huge chunk of money. It’s great because I feel it needs to be done, but I have [other] responsibilities, too.”
He goes onto say: “People don’t understand. I didn’t write ‘Enter Sandman’. It’s a little different for me.”
The festival is set to take place April 10-12th.
