Mastodon pull out of Reading and Leeds Festival appearance
Mastodon has canceled a number of live shows, including an appearance at Reading and Leeds Festival, due to a “personal family matter”.
The band has dropped 16 dates in total, with appearances at Oya Festival in Norway and Belgium’s Pukkelpop also affected. Dates affected span between August 7 and September 3.
Mastodon were due to headline The Pit at Reading and Leeds. Organisers have confirmed that they will be replaced at the top of the bill by Swedish metal band Ghost.
Billboard reports that Mastodon will return to the road for Latin American dates in late September. A gig originally scheduled for September 5 in Reykjavik will now take place at the Rokkjotnar Festival on December 5.
