Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington has posted several photos online of the scars left behind on his foot from his recent surgery for a broken ankle. Another photo showed the vocalist seated outdoors in a wheelchair with the caption, “First ray of sunshine since the surgery. Thank you to everyone for all your support and well wishes.”

Linkin Park had to cancel the bulk of its just-started North American tour this month after Bennington injured the ankle, although he performed one of the band’s last gigs, in Indianapolis, on crutches. After initially canceling two dates, the rest of the trek was scrapped, with Bennington saying in a statement, “I need to take the proper time to assess the severity of my injury.”

Bennington tweeted on January 20th that he was headed into surgery, and followed that up a short time later with a photo of his foot in a cast.

Later photos showed the scar where doctors cut into his foot, with Bennington writing, “Looking at my ankle for the first time since the surgery. IT LOOKS INSANE!!!!”

The canceled tour, with special guests Rise Against and Of Mice And Men, was in support of Linkin Park’s sixth album, The Hunting Party.
