The Los Angeles Lakers said Monday (January 26th) that Kobe Bryant will have to undergo surgery this week for a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder, and will likely be out for the rest of the season.

The 36-year-old Bryant suffered the injury while making a dunk last week in New Orleans. This would be the third year in a row that Bryant has suffered a season-ending injury, after missing the 2013 playoffs with a torn Achilles tendon, and playing just six games last season before breaking a bone near his left knee.
