KINGS OF LEON: SHORTER WAIT FOR NEXT ALBUM
Kings Of Leon just wrapped up a world tour supporting their 2013 album, Mechanical Bull, and they’re hinting that the wait for a new album won’t be long.
Writing on Twitter after their show in Rio, drummer Nathan Followill said, “So sad to leave Brazil. Hell of a way to end this record cycle. So many amazing memories. Best fans in the world, record 7 coming soon.”
Kings Of Leon released an album every other year between 2003 to 2010, but took an extra year’s break before releasing Mechanical Bull.
The hiatus began in September 2011, after they canceled a tour that summer. The cancelation followed an incident in Dallas in which frontman Caleb Followill, apparently drunk, left the stage after a few songs, telling the crowd he’d be back and never returned.
The touring cycle for Mechanical Bull had a hiccup this past August when a handful of shows were canceled due to Nathan breaking some ribs in a tour bus accident.
Mechanical Bull featured the Top 10 Modern Rock singles “Supersoaker” and “Wait For Me.”
