Kid Rock blasted actor Seth Rogen and documentary filmmaker Michael Moore online over comments from both that were seen as attacks against the movie American Sniper and its subject, late Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, although both Rogen and Moore later said their comments were not direct criticisms of either.

Moore wrote that his uncle was killed by a sniper in World War II and that he was raised to believe snipers were cowards, while Rogen suggested that American Sniper reminded him of the fictional Nazi propaganda film, Nation’s Pride, screened within Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds.

Rock wrote, “F**k you Michael Moore, you’re a piece of s**t and your uncle would be ashamed of you . . . Seth Rogen, your uncle probably molested you. I hope both of you catch a fist to the face soon.” He added, ” “God bless you Chris Kyle. Thank you for your service.”

Moore later wrote a clarification of his comments, saying they were not directed at American Sniper and that he actually enjoyed the film, praising Bradley Cooper’s performance as Kyle along with the film’s “anti-war sentiment” and its “touching” ending.

Rogen also issued some additional thoughts later on, saying that he was not comparing the two films, only that one reminded him of the other because they were both about snipers. He added that he “would never” compare American Sniper to Nazi propaganda, that he had nothing against Kyle or veterans, and that any political meaning read into his tweet was by others and not him.

  • Kid Rock will release his new album, First Kiss, on February 24th. He recently issued a video for the title track, which is also the set’s first single.
