Halestorm Tie Record for Female-Fronted Bands on Mainstream Rock Songs Chart

August 2, 2015

Halestorm moved into a prestigious position recently; they are now tied for the most No. 1 songs by a female-fronted act on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart.

Halestorm’s “Amen” was the song that helped them get there, the third single to go #1 off their new record. “Apocalyptic” and “Freak Like Me” also topped the chart. Interestingly enough, they tie the record held by their recent tour mates, The Pretty Reckless, who pulled ahead of Halestorm when “Follow Me Down” topped the chart in May.

The last woman to hold the No. 1 spot on the Mainstream Rock chart prior to Halestorm in 2013 was Alannah Myles in 1990 with her bluesy rock single “Black Velvet.”
