GREEN DAY’S SINGER OPENING GUITAR STORE
Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong and his business partner Bill Schneider are opening a guitar store called Broken Guitars at 423 40th Street in Oakland.
The shop will open its doors to customers on April 3rd. The space itself was once home to 1-2-3-4 Go! Records, an independent label and record store that moved to a new location three years ago.
The shop’s initial selection will feature approximately 75 guitars from both Armstrong and Schneider’s own collections, along with amplifiers and repair services for both instruments and amps.
- Schneider says the guitars will range between $400-$800, telling East Bay Express, “We want to be a shop for musicians. The focus is used American guitars: Gretsch, Fender and not necessarily just vintage ones.”
- Green Day, along with Joan Jett, Lou Reed, Stevie Ray Vaughn and others, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 18th in Cleveland.
