GREEN DAY JAMS TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A YEAR
Green Day got together earlier this week to jam for the first time in a year, posting a photo of the band on Instagram to commemorate the occasion.
It’s not clear whether they got together to rehearse for their upcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or to begin working on material for a new record — or both.
2014 was a mostly quiet year for the group. Although their induction was announced in December, it was revealed that same month that guitarist Jason Whitewas diagnosed with tonsil cancer. Meanwhile, earlier in the year, bassist Mike Dirnt revealed his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong told Rolling Stone late last year, “I think of (2015) as us kind of regrouping and getting together more. I want to make sure that everyone’s head is in the right place and wants to start doing it again.”
Green Day will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on April 18th at a ceremony in Cleveland, along with Joan Jett, Stevie Ray Vaughan and others. The band will be inducted by Fall Out Boy.
