‘Gambit’ pulled from release schedule
Channing Tatum’s “Gambit” movie release date has been back by Fox.
The Gambit movie, starring Tatum in the lead role, was supposed to be released in October 2016. This past weekend, Fox changed the movie release schedule and the film now has no official release date.
This doesn’t come as a surprise to many Gambit fans – the movie switched directors last year after Rupert Wyatt left in September. His replacement Doug Liman took the helm in November 2015 – leaving him with just 11 months to finish the film.
Léa Seydoux, best known for her roles in Blue Is The Warmest Colour and Bond film Spectre, will play the role of Bella Donna Boudreaux, Gambit’s first love.
Discussing Gambit last year, Tatum said he hoped the movie could “actually try to change the ‘hero, superhero movie.’ Because Gambit is not your typical hero.”
In addition to delaying Gambit, Fox also placed two mystery Marvel projects for release. The untitled projects will come out on on October 6, 2017, and January 12, 2018. Its rumoured one of these releases is the Deadpool sequel.
