McKagan told Argentina’s Vorterix, “We were talking on the phone, and (Izzy) said, ‘Let’s go record a song’ . . . So we just went in — Izzy and I and Taz (Bentley, drummer) — and just had a blast. We recorded a song. I have it. It just got mixed. It’s a super kick-ass song. And we just had fun, and we’ll probably do it some more.”

Asked if fans might hear the song on an upcoming album, McKagan replied, “Maybe. We’re gonna maybe record some more. But we just enjoy making music together and enjoy each other’s company. We’re allowed to do that.”

McKagan, who records with his own band Loaded, contributed bass tracks to former Guns guitarist Slash’s self-titled solo debut in 2010.
