FOO FIGHTERS’ ‘SONIC HIGHWAYS’ TO BE RELEASED IN APRIL ON DVD/BLU-RAY

Foo Fighters have confirmed that they are releasing Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways, an award-winning HBO docuseries directed by frontman Dave Grohl. The film is getting the deluxe DVD / Blu-Ray treatment and will also be available as a digital release via iTunes.

The series documents the dramatic musical journey the band embarked on when creating the album that shares its name. The DVD / Blue-Ray package also features bonus footage, plus extended interviews with President Barack Obama, Chuck D of Public Enemy, Ian Mackaye of Fugazi, Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood and many others.

Pre-orders will be available March 9th at FooFighters.com and via iTunes. The series premiered on HBO on October 14th.

News of the release comes in the midst of a massive Australia / New Zealand stadium tour that has not been without drama. News of a “serious accident” that wrecked equipment and injured a crew member caused the cancellation of Foo Fighters charity fundraiser in Auckland, New Zealand leaked on February 19th. According to a Facebook post from Frontier Touring Company, “a truck carrying essential band equipment was involved in a serious accident.”

The driver of the truck is reportedly recovering.
