December 31, 2014

A healthcare worker who’d just returned to Scotland Sunday (December 28th) from working with Ebola patients in Sierra Leone was found Tuesday (December 30th) to have the U.K.’s first diagnosed case of the disease.

The woman was admitted to a Glasgow hospital after feeling ill and was placed in isolation, with health authorities investigating any possible contacts she had.

However, they said she’s in the very early stages of the disease, so any risk to others she came into contact with is considered extremely low.

The woman will be transferred to a high-level isolation unit in a London hospital.
