Facebook’s Zuckerberg: Thinking About a ‘Dislike’ Button
People have long been asking for a “dislike” button on Facebook, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said during a Q&A at company headquarters on Thursday (December 11th) when asked about it: “We’re thinking about it.”
However, he quickly clarified that the button wouldn’t actually say “dislike,” but would give users another one-step way to express reactions to posts other than “like.”
Explaining that an actual “dislike” button or other negative sentiment could be used for the wrong reasons, Zuckerberg said, “We need to figure out the right way to do it so it ends up being a force for good, not a force for bad.”
Should note… Zuckerberg has made similar comments about “thinking about” a dislike button as far back as 2010.
