‘Deadpool’ private screenings: ‘outstanding’ and ‘f**king amazing’
Surprise screenings of Deadpool were held in New York and Los Angeles last night (Jan 18) and the initial response is overwhelmingly positive.
Those attending were told they would be seeing a selection of preview footage, but were actually shown the Ryan Reynolds-led superhero movie in its entirety.
Though full reviews are currently under embargo, many of them took to Twitter after the screenings to brand the R-rated romp “outstanding”, “f**king amazing” and “just a blast”.
The long-awaited film will open in cinemas on February 4. Ryan Reynolds is joined by a great supporting cast that includes Haywire‘s Gina Carano, former Homeland actress Morena Baccarin and Silicon Valley star TJ Miller.
Visual effects specialist Tim Miller, whose CV includes creating the opening sequence for 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, makes his directorial debut from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the creators of US hoax-based comedy series The Joe Schmo Show.
