Confirmed: Guns N’ Roses To Play Next Year’s Coachella Festival
According to Billboard magazine, Guns N’ Roses will headline next year’s Coachella Music And Arts Festival in Indio, California (April 15 through April 17 and April 22 through April 24).
The band is also currently negotiating to do a 25-date football stadium tour in North America summer 2016 (they’re asking $3 million per show). That will put ticket prices at between $250 and $275.
Billboard reports that Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan are involved. There is no word whether original guitarist Izzy Stradlin and/or drummer Steven Adler will take part, although that seems unlikely. Consequence Of Sound says that Adler’s original replacement, Matt Sorum, is also on board, while other reports have suggested that current drummer Frank Ferrer and guitarist Richard Fortus will round out the lineup.
Representatives for the band, as well as Coachella producer Paul Tollett and agent Ken Fermaglich, could not be reached for comment by Billboard.
The last show Axl and Slash played together was on July 17, 1993 at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires.
The official lineup for Coachella will be announced on January 5.
