BLACK KEYS FORCED TO CANCEL MORE SHOWS DUE TO INJURY
Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney’s recovery from a shoulder injury is taking longer than expected and has forced the band to cancel a series of shows next month in New Zealand, Australia and Japan.
The duo hoped to be back on the road by April, but issued a statement saying, “The recovery process and physical therapy has taken longer than anticipated and unfortunately Patrick is still unable to perform and needs additional time to heal. We thank all of our fans for their ongoing support and we look forward to getting back on the road as soon as possible.”
The next confirmed Black Keys live date is May 28th at a festival in Barcelona, Spain, followed by several U.S. festival shows in June.
Carney suffered a dislocated shoulder on January 3rd while swimming on the Caribbean island of St. Barts. After reportedly being slammed by a giant wave, he was rushed to an ER where his shoulder was reset.
