BLACK KEYS DRUMMER INJURED IN SWIMMING ACCIDENT
Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney suffered a dislocated shoulder on Saturday (January 3rd) while swimming on the Caribbean island of St. Barts.
According to TMZ, Carney was slammed into the ocean floor by a giant wave, then rushed to the ER and administered anesthesia so doctors could reset his shoulder. Carney has been released from the hospital but is reportedly still in significant pain.
The Black Keys are next scheduled to perform on February 6th at the 2015 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute to Bob Dylan. It’s unclear whether Carney’s injury will prevent the Keys from playing the event, which is also scheduled to feature appearances from Neil Young, Beck, Eddie Vedder, Jack White, Willie Nelson and more.
The Black Keys are then slated to start a month-long European tour on February 16th as the duo continue to promote last year’s Turn Blue album.
