BECK FINALLY GETS APOLOGY FROM KANYE WEST
Beck has finally received an apology from Kanye West after the rapper rushed the stage during the singer’s Album of the Year win on February 8th at the Grammy Awards.
West also later said that Beck should “respect artistry” and give his award to Beyonce, who he beat out for the prize. In a tweet posted late Thursday (February 26th), West wrote, “I would like to publicly apologize to Beck, I’m sorry Beck.”
- West also took the opportunity to apologize to Bruno Mars, saying, “I used to hate on him but I really respect what he does as an artist.”
- Beck, for his part, said recently about the incident, “It’s just one of those things that plays out, like a top that spins. I really just try and not to take it personally.”
- Beck also said he still respects West as an artist, adding, “Just when I think all the good songs that have been written already, and (then) someone goes and does something — and Kanye has done that many times.”
- Beck has a handful of live dates scheduled for mid-May.
