50 Cent has asked Chris Rock to step down as Oscars host as part of a boycott against the apparent lack of diversity at this year’s awards show.

A number of high-profile actors and film-makers have criticized this year’s nominations, including Spike Lee, who has said he’s boycotting the ceremony next month.

Comedian Rock is set to host the 2016 Oscars on February 28 and now 50 Cent took to Instagram to ask Rock to step down as part of the ongoing #OscarsSoWhite protest.

Rock himself previously addressed the issue by jokingly referring to the Oscars as the “white BET Awards”. The BET Awards is hosted annually by the Black Entertainment Television network and celebrates the best of African American culture.
